An Eclisse double pocket door system - new stud sizes

Double pocket doors allow you the freedom to change your room from open plan to cosy in one easy movement without constraining your room layout.

Imagine opening up and closing off different areas of your layout in an instant, with doors that are there when you need them, and slide into a pocket in the wall when you don’t. And because the doors slide into a pocket in the wall, the doors themselves do not take up valuable space in the room when they are open.

The Eclisse double sliding pocket door system can also be installed against an existing masonry wall by simply creating a false stud wall alongside the existing masonry one. All you need to do is to construct the frame in exactly the same way, still applying plasterboard to both sides of the frame for strength.  By doing this you will only be adding 95mm or 100mm thickness to the existing wall. This is nothing compared to the space you will save by installing pocket doors instead of traditional hinged doors!

Just launched! - New pocket sizes 70mm and 90mm to better match common sizes of CLS and metal stud.

Because of the rise in popularity of using CLS (i.e. Canadian Lumber Standard) timber for stud work which has a planed surface and eased corners for a precision finish and modern metal C-shaped studs we have launched a new thickness of pocket door systems with a rear pocket measurement of 70 and 90mm.

Typical dimensions of stud:

  • CLS – 63mm and 89mm;
  • Metal C Shaped – 70mm and 90mm;

You can see from the diagrams below how easy it is to now match our new range of sizes to the most common sizes of stud.

Make sure you are clear on which finish wall thickness you require. The finished wall thickness is the width of the pocket plus the layer 12.5m standard plasterboard on both sides. This is important because the finished wall thickness option you choose will determine which jamb kit you are sent.

  • 95mm finished wall thickness: You will receive a 70/90mm frame, which you will assemble to a 70mm thickness, plus our specially designed 95mm jamb kit with a beechwood veneer that will allow you to finish off your pocket door perfectly.
  • 115mm finished wall thickness: You will receive a 70/90mm frame, which you will assemble to a 90mm thickness, with our specially designed 115mm jamb kit with a beechwood veneer to finish off your pocket door.

If you would like to add two layers of plasterboard to double board your pocket door you have the option to do this too. You can do this with a 115 or 140mm jamb kit. See our Double Boarding Diagram.

Note: If you are using 3x2” (75x50mm) or 4x2” (100x50mm) rough sawn timber rather than a planed finished CLS then choose our 75/100 frame with a finished wall thickness of either 100mm or 125mm.
