Carnbrook - Greenwich
Posted by Kevin Stanley on 4th Jul 2023
A recently completed housing development of 35 homes, in Kidbrooke, in the borough of Greenwich, South East London is offering high-quality affordable homes to local working families.
Meridian Home Start contracted architects Tooley and Foster Partnership to design and construct 35 homes on a site that used to be three separate sections of the Council's Carnbrook depot, an old area office, a garage block, and the former Orchard Youth Club.
The homes are available to working Greenwich residents at, or below, 65 per cent local market rent levels to help working families who would otherwise find it hard to buy or rent on the open market.
ECLISSE UK supplied 33 Classic Pocket Door Systems to the project with slightly wider than average passageway at 826mm to allow for improved access in order to make the homes more inclusive in design.
Meridian Home Start is a Community Benefit Society and fully independent of the Council. The organisation has begun working on building just over 200 new affordable homes across six sites.
