Flush door systems at ESSENZIALE Concept Space in Rome
Natural clay walls and soft, neutral colours give ESSENZIALE in Rome a calm, welcoming feel. ECLISSE pocket doors and flush hinged doors blend into this setting, allowing the textures and shapes of the interior to stand out.
The showroom was designed by architecture studio luoghiCOMUNI with Rodion Cernei of Martina.due. It gives visitors the chance to see how materials and products work together within a finished space, offering inspiration for their own interiors.
Keeping the design simple
For architects Enrico M. Turella and Chiara Celidoni, the aim was to create a space with fewer distractions. Circular openings and softly curved shapes draw the eye through the rooms, while illuminated displays highlight the materials on show.
That approach needed to extend to the practical details, too. Doors had to provide access between spaces, and storage needed to be easy to reach, without interrupting the clean wall finishes. Our Syntesis systems helped the team bring these elements into the design.
Doors that blend into the walls
The ECLISSE flush hinged doors sit level with the wall when closed. Finished in colours that match the surrounding surfaces, they have no visible architraves, leaving just the outline of the door and its handle in view.
The pocket doors follow the same simple style. When opened, the panels slide into the wall, keeping the doorway clear and freeing up the floor space a hinged door would need to swing open. When closed, they blend back into the room’s colour scheme.
A glass door provides a different detail within the showroom. Its surface reflects the light, and slim, dark profiles frame the opening, picking up on other elements of the interior.
Storage that stays out of sight
The showroom also features ECLISSE Syntesis Areo panels to conceal storage areas. These sit flush with the surrounding walls and are finished to blend in, keeping practical storage close at hand without adding visual clutter.
It is a useful detail for anyone planning a minimalist interior, where a cupboard door or access panel can make a noticeable difference to the overall look.
Getting the details right
Martina.due carried out the project, working closely with the architects throughout. Careful installation was essential: in a space with simple finishes, the alignment of a door and the quality of the edges around it are easy to notice.
Rodion Cernei chose ECLISSE for the quality and reliability of the systems, as well as their ability to fit naturally into the design. The finished showroom shows how well-chosen doors can help create a consistent look while keeping a space practical to use.
