Replan and Remodel with ECLISSE Pocket Doors

If you’ve just moved into a new house, or perhaps you’re planning to renovate or remodel your current home, planning your layout is key to comfortable living. If you plan ahead you’ll save a lot of time, effort and money.
Planning ahead
What rooms are best suited to the various functions that we assign to them? Will you move the bathroom, or the kitchen, to another room? There are many reasons why you might wish to change the use of a room, such as availability of natural light, current or newly planned plumbing, or making spaces for different purposes. You might want a room for the children to play in, or you may wish to create a bespoke space for an elderly relative such as a Granny annex.
Make the space work for you
You may have access to a piece of computer software that allows you to draw 3D floorplans and if you do that will really help, but even if you don’t, planning need not be difficult and you don’t need an architect to get it right. You just need to think about how you live your life and what changes you could make to make movement around the home easier and more convenient, as well as making the space that you have work for you.
How your home functions
If you’re planning a renovation or a remodel you’ll have already spent time in the house and will know what changes you want to make. You’ll have a good understanding of how a new layout will affect how your home functions. On the other hand, if you’ve just bought the house you should try to take the time to imagine how you’ll live in the property day to day. What rooms will you use the most? Can you make changes to the layout that will make the home more functional and/or more visually pleasing? Even if you have a very spacious home, you should be careful not to waste space. Any space that you can save by not including redundant areas will pay dividends.
Furniture
Finding the right place for your furniture can be difficult, even in larger homes. Pocket door systems remove the arc of the door and free up the space behind the door which means that you’ll be able to plan your layout more efficiently and will have more useable space. Increased wall space against which to place furniture and hang artwork will no doubt be very welcome.
Storage
Storage space is something that everyone wants. You can seemingly never have quite enough! What will you need to store? And where will you need to store it? Can it be left in the loft over a long period of time, or is it something that you will use every day? Where it is stored will save you time and effort. The right amount of storage space, in the right place, will make your life easier as it will be better organised, more comfortable and safer.
Ensuite bathrooms
Ensuite bathrooms are an amazing addition to any home. They’re very popular for good reasons. ECLISSE Pocket doors between the bedroom and the ensuite are perfect for that extra convenient connection. They save space and remove the need to leave space for the door to open into. This allows all sorts of improved layouts in the bathroom. Without a door opening into the room more space is free for shelving or larger sanitaryware.
Toilets
If you love entertaining friends and family in your home, but don’t want them to use your family bathroom you might consider having a separate toilet on the ground floor. An ECLISSE pocket door for a toilet is the perfect way to conceal the room but also to give easy access. Likewise a downstairs toilet might be a great addition to your home if you have an elderly relative, or a disabled family member, as this would allow them easier access. Pocket doors are better suited than standard hinged doors for people with disabilities as they are easier to open and easier to pass through, especially for wheelchair users.
Pocket doors can open up new possibilities that you had never previously considered. ECLISSE invites you to rethink doors and to reimagine the space.
