Can tradition and modern technology get married? Sometimes the answer is yes. It is a case of a perfect union among the Empire Hotel (in Llandudno, North Wales), Eclisse sliding door systems and Karis Venetian glass doors.
Elyse Waddy, manager and owner of the Empire Hotel and of the elegant Osborne House, wants to refurbish thirty en-suites in her Victorian buildings. The hotel is a family business established in 1946, when her grandparents came to North Wales and started their trade.
“The peculiarity of our hotel – she explains – is its Victorian character strengthen by its impressive position in the picturesque seaside resort of Llandudno. We are a traditional hotel but with a boutique feel in style and new bathrooms reflect that newer feel”.
For her ongoing project, she has choosen Eclisse and Karis glass sliding doors as they give a new and modern renovation to the rooms, without compromising the peculiarity of the Victorian style. The glass pocket doors seemlessly disappear into the wall cavities and the glass panels allow light to flood through the room.
The Eclisse system uses an ingenious frame mounted, self-centering guide so there is no threshold to interrup floor surfaces.
Along with the metal frame a finishing joinery kit is supplied which makes the finished product a beautiful and professionally finished sliding door.
